Coming Up For Air

Nonstop.  Our lives have been nonstop for the past 2 months.  Just now, am I finally feeling like I can come up for air.

Since the move, we have had lots of family and friends visiting.  Last weekend was the first weekend we had to ourselves.  First it was my big brother and his family.  They were in town from North Dakota for several weeks.  Then my girlfriend, Marcie, and her mom, came for a weekend of shopping and fun.  Then Jeana and Marcie came back with their little ones for 5 days of swimming and kid adventures.  We have had a crazy summer!

We are finally feeling all settled in.  Everything is in it's place.  Well, mostly.  We have found a fabulous new church.  We have been spending lots of time with family and friends, both old and new.  Dave LOVES his job.  I cannot tell you how much he loves his job.  And that makes me a happy girl. 

We have had some adjustments to make.  Dave has had to get used to commuting everyday again.  Not too bad - about 25 to 30 minutes.  But it's enough that he can't come home for lunch anymore.  Of course, we like to go have lunch with him sometimes!   All in all, it has been an easy transition.  He has been forming some great friendships with his coworkers, as they often all go to lunch together and hang out.  He's even joined their bowling league on Thursday evenings.  And the commute has been giving him a little quiet time in the car.  (Quiet???  What's quiet????  I want a 30 minute commute!) 

I have just started working from home again, as I have had the summer off.  I have been able to keep my job with the Health Sciences department at the college in Oklahoma.  It's the perfect job for me to do during nap time and on the days that the kids go to preschool.   

Some days it feels weird to be back here.  But most days, it feels like we never left.  We are so thankful to finally be home again. 

In early June, we spent a weekend at Keystone Lake with friends.  Here are some pics from our quick little getaway.

 

 

We had lots of fun with our cousins from North Dakota.  Lots of swimming, superhero sleepovers, stories, dress up, and more swimming.

We had lots of adventures with our friends who came to visit from Oklahoma.

 

Every Wednesday, we spend the day with my college roommates and their little ones.  We like to call it Wild Women Wednesday.  There is never a dull moment.  I am so thankful to still have these ladies in my life, 14 years later.   Here's a few from back then, and a few recent ones.  My how things have changed.
